Philips Airfryer HD9240 XL Review

Most air fryer models will be too small for you if you have a larger family unless you like cooking in batches.

Philips has obviously listened to their customers because they have launched a larger airfryer: The Philips Airfryer HD9240 XL, also known as the Philips Avance Airfryer XL.

Philips Airfryer HD9240 XL

The airfryer HD9240 can prepare 2 bags of French Fries, which is double the amount of the other 2 Philips airfryers!

We have reviewed the Philips Airfryer HD9240 so you can make an informed decision if you’re thinking about upgrading.

Philips HD9240 Capacity

The Philips Airfryer HD9240 XL has a cooking capacity of 2.65 pounds, which can feed a family of 4. So compared to the HD9230 or HD9230 that’s an increase of 30%!

The cooking capacity of the Philips HD9240 roughly translates to:

  • 12 Chicken wings
  • 8 drumsticks
  • 2 bags for French Fries (2.65 lbs)

You can use the airfryer to prepare lots of other foods, but the above is just an example of the possibilities.

As with the other Philps airfryers, the HD9240 uses the patented rapid air to prepare the food in half the time of a conventional oven and with a lot less fat than a deep fryer.

So far it all sounds good, doesn’t it?

However, you can actually only prepare one type of food in the airfryer. To prepare multiple types of foods(say fries and nuggets) you need to buy a double layer rack with skewers to layer the food.

What Can You Cook In the Philips HD9240?

Basically, you can fry, grill, bake and roast any food in the HD9240 that you would normally prepare in a deep fryer or conventional oven, but without the added greasiness and calories!

The airfryer is very good for preparing foods that have been pre-cooked and frozen such as dumplings, fish fingers, french fries, chicken nuggets, fish, chicken, and other meats. Everything will come out perfectly crispy and browned to perfection!

HD9240 Controls

The fryer has a digital interface that is easy to use: Set the temperature to preheat the air fryer (this takes about 3-5 minutes) and just pop your food in. Set the timer and when done you’ll hear a beep to tell you your food is ready.

The smart preset buttons can be used to save the settings of your favorite dish.

Bottom Line

There’s no doubt the Philips H9240 is a quality product, which can prepare fried food to perfection without fat. This airfryer is definitely worth the price tag if you have a large family or throw a lot of parties.

However, if you are on your own or have a small household you would be better off choosing the HD9230 or another smaller and cheaper air fryer.
